), over 600 children and their families are serviced every year by the Music Therapy Unit in the areas of acute care, rehabilitation, and emotional support.
As part of the rehabilitation team, the Music Therapy Unit’s role is to assist other units in the areas of pain management, emotional distress, and physical recovery, taking into consideration the different stages of rehabilitation of children and their families.
Part B: The presentation will explore the ways to approach a community in need after a traumatic event, the earthquake of February 27th in Chile, cultural and geographic concerns, material vs emotional aid, the supportive role of a music therapy team for first line workers. Also will present results from evaluations done in the community
